![]() Part of the reason I adore this game so much is because of how well every element fits together nothing stands out as odd or out of place. The Train cards are nicely designed, bringing bright colours into the game and the board itself is gorgeous. While there aren’t many moving parts to Nordic Countries, what is there is done well. The aim of the game is the same as other Ticket to Rides. ![]() Originally only printed for sale in these countries, Nordic Countries has been available around the world since 2008. Part of the now rather immense and noble family of Ticket to Ride games, Nordic Countries sees up to three players go against one another to claim rail routes across Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Finland. ![]() All of this making it a solid contender for any game nights. With almost identical mechanics to those of the original Ticket to Ride, this version is not only easy to play but easy to teach and pick up. In a time where dreams of international travel are constantly being crushed by the never-ending COVID crisis, Ticket to Ride: Nordic Countries provides a sprinkle of winter cheer for all those who climb aboard. Blocking can and will occur: we did warn you! It’s supposed be a tight, competitive layout. Take note that this Nordic Countries map is for 2-3 players only. If any of those three match the colour of said tunnel route, you have to pay extra cards or forfeit claiming it for now! Talking of Locomotives: you can now take two of them on your turn! The catch is you can only spend them on Tunnels or Ferries… When you want to pay for one, you have to flip over the top three train cards from the deck. Ferries require a designated number of wild Locomotive cards as part of payment. #TICKET TO RIDE NORDIC FULL#The Nordic Countries are full of tricky, snow-capped terrain. Nordic Countries has one gargantuan route that’s nine train cards in length! It’s worth a whopping 27 points… Do you dare save up for it? The longer the route, the more points you’ll earn. Players also earn points by building routes between cities. They cost you the same but in minus points if you fail to complete them! Tickets pay out positive points if completed by the end of the game. On your turn, you can do one action: get two more train cards, claim a route by paying cards, or taking on more tickets. You connect routes in a set collection fashion, by paying matching, same-colour train cards. Players aim to complete tickets between two cities on the map, by connecting routes. The core gameplay of Ticket To Ride remains present in Nordic Countries. The map ranges from Denmark to the chilly northern regions of Norway, Sweden and Finland.
